April 14th - Waterfall
Waterfall
There are so many paths that we can choose
And
some may seem right. And some may seem
very wrong.
And
some are sensible and controlled.
Some
carefree and rash.
We
are going to be so unpopular if……
We
are seen and found out…..
And
yet we must be true to ourselves.
Do
not let us trade our love in shame or keep our feelings under control. Can we?
But
more let us:
Meet
by the waterfall, the sound of the rushing water will hide our words of love.
Hide
behind the bushes and trees for a hug and a kiss
As
woodland nymphs dance and dart in the shadows
No
one shall see us. Our love can be ours.
Sharing
with none.
Caring
about none.
Our
feet will move few leaves, yet our feelings will move us to tears.
The
sounds we shall make will be but whispers.
But
will roar and echo in our ears.
I really relate to the first two stanzas.
ReplyDeleteBut the last makes me wonder. While love can, and to some extent maybe should, be private - are we really being true to ourselves if we hide it?
I like the imagery though. A rendezvous alone in nature with nothing but the spirit of the place.
And sometimes getting away is the best thing.
